At the celebration of the academic year - with first a ceremony in the afternoon and later the University Party for ceremony guests, staff and students on 4 April - there are now new tones in the air. As the new name on the list, Mina Okabe will take the stage in AKKC at 10 p.m. instead of Mumle.
Mina Okabe was born and raised in London, her biological roots are Danish-Japanese and she has lived across the globe in different cities and absorbed life and culture with her family. For the past five years, Mina has lived in Denmark. Here she feels at home and it is from here that Mina Okabe will seek out again – now with her music in her luggage.
Mina Okabe has had a busy year. In the spring of 2024, she received The Japan Gold Disc Awards as "New Artist of the Year". A prestigious international award that cemented her breakthrough with the hit single "Every Second" from her debut album Better Days. An album that was given four stars by GAFFA, and by the way, has long since reached 500 million streams worldwide.
Okabe is thus ready to pick up on an eventful year, and she does so on her latest single "Making Plans", which has just been released, all while the calendar for 2025 already offers a new, exciting year with, among other things, MME Awards, a new album and a summer where Mina Okabe once again makes her way to Roskilde Festival.
